Martin Panteleev, born into a family of musicians, received his first violin lessons at the age of four. He began his musical education at the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music School in Sofia, where he studied until 1995. He then continued his studies at the Sofia State Academy of Music in the violin class of Professor Iosif Radionoff. At the same time, he studied conducting and composition with Professor Vassil Kasandzhiev. In 1999, Martin Panteleev became Principal Guest Conductor and soloist of the Philharmonic of Nations, founded by Leonard Bernstein and Justus Frantz. With this orchestra, he performed in over 1,000 concerts in Europe, Asia, and the USA until 2003. After his debut with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in 2004, he became a permanent guest conductor and was the orchestra's chief conductor from 2011 to 2017.

Throughout his career, Martin Panteleev has worked with more than 30 international orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, the Berliner Symphoniker, the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Slovenian National Opera, the Romanian National Radio Orchestra, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Nova Scotia, the Orquesta Philharmonica de Jalisco in Mexico, the Orquesta Sinfonica de Buenos Aires and others. He has conducted in prestigious concert halls such as the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and has been a guest at well-known festivals such as the Rheingau Music Festival, the MDR Musiksommer and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. In addition to his international conducting activities, Panteleev was Principal Guest Conductor of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra from 2012 to 2019. In 2008 he led a North American tour with the Sofia Festival Orchestra, and in 2011 he became the first conductor to conduct an African orchestra on a US tour.

Martin Panteleev is also a successful composer. His three symphonies for large symphony orchestra, his cantata for choir, orchestra, and soloists "Planetenspuren," his concerto for percussion and orchestra, and his symphonic poem "Archetypen" have been performed worldwide, including in Germany, England, China, South Africa, Romania, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Béla Bartók Prize, the "Music and Earth" Composition Competition, the Honorary Prize of the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture, and the title of "Musician of the Year" in Sofia in 2014. His new album of his own compositions, "Quasar," released in 2023, impresses the music world with its extraordinary originality and versatility. On this work, Martin Panteleev himself plays violin, piano, and electronic instruments, once again demonstrating his talents as a musician. "Quasar" captivates with a unique sound world that combines classical elements with modern influences. The album has already been met with great acclaim and is considered a striking example of his innovative strength in contemporary music. Martin Panteleev is also the founder and musical director of the "Kammermusiktage Barth" (since 2002) and the "Musiktage Owingen" (since 2018). Since 2018, Martin Panteleev has been Principal Guest Conductor of the Würth Philharmonic, with whom he has performed successful concerts in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Belgium, among others. In 2019, he toured Israel conducting the Israel Symphony Orchestra. His repertoire includes all major symphonic works, and he has also conducted several opera and ballet productions worldwide.
